Our organisation exists to support families in deprived communities to regain economic stability and to equip children with entrepreneurial skills that build confidence, independence, and long-term opportunity.
We recognise that funding sources can raise ethical questions, particularly in times of international conflict or humanitarian crisis. We take these concerns seriously and review our funding decisions with care and responsibility.
Our guiding principles
Mission first
All decisions are guided by our core purpose: reducing deprivation, supporting families back into work, and empowering children through education and enterprise.
Political neutrality
We do not endorse, oppose, or align with any government, political party, or political agenda. Acceptance of funding does not constitute support for the policies or actions of any state or organisation.
Unconditional funding only
We accept donations solely on the basis that they are unconditional and do not influence our programmes, priorities, messaging, or governance.
Humanitarian and civilian focus
All funds are used exclusively for community-based, civilian programmes that support families and children. We do not engage in political advocacy or activities connected to conflict.
Impact and harm reduction
We consider the consequences of refusing funding as well as accepting it. Where withdrawal of support would directly harm vulnerable families or children, this weighs heavily in our ethical decision-making.
Ongoing review and transparency
We continually review our funding sources and work to diversify income so that no single donor defines or compromises our mission.
We understand that people of good faith may disagree on these issues. We welcome respectful dialogue and remain committed to acting thoughtfully, transparently, and in the best interests of the communities we serve.
