We like to get in early.
So, in collaboration with the corporate sector, we run clubs and business enterprise challenges for young people in schools throughout Newcastle.
Helping to develop their entrepreneurial skills, increase their confidence and nurture smart thinking.
Pitching Up
In 2024, we partnered with Ward Hadaway (Top 100 Law Firm) for a seven week in-school enterprise project which culminated with a Dragon’s Den-style pitching contest.
The Enterprise Challenge is a programme designed to equip young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with essential business acumen and entrepreneurial skills, empowering them for years to come.
The project was an outstanding success, with Ward Hadaway’s Emerging Talent team recognised for the impact they have made supporting the next generation of legal and business professionals.
It earned them the prestigious People in Law Award 2024 for Best CSR Initiative.
Get Involved
Businesses can participate in an enterprise challenge by sponsoring a club or just choosing
a theme. They can be as hands-on/hands-off as time permits, popping into school to volunteer, if they wish. Many join the judges panel at the end.
And we have to say, the corporate sector has done us proud, with the likes of Ward Hadaway, Draeger, Pearson Engineering and Baker Hughes all getting involved.
If you’d like to sponsor an after school club or an enterprise challenge in a disadvantaged area, please get in touch.
