On The Up is delighted to have received a Grassroots Grant from Groundwork UK, made possible thanks to players of the People’s Postcode Lottery and awarded through the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust.
This funding has enabled us to launch our new 15-week Discovering Enterprise Programme for young women aged 18–25 living in Benwell and the surrounding communities.
The programme is designed to build confidence, develop enterprise and employability skills, and help participants recognise their strengths and aspirations. Through interactive workshops and practical activities, the women will explore business ideas, create products and services, and gain hands-on experience of developing and selling their work.
Alongside enterprise learning, participants will receive support to explore pathways into education, employment, volunteering and self-employment, equipping them with the skills, confidence and connections needed to take their next steps.
We’re excited to see the group grow over the coming weeks and look forward to celebrating the achievements of these inspiring young women.
